Air supported structures are pneumatic constructions made from plastic coated man-made fibre fabric, that is supported by an increased internal air pressure. This air pressure is 3 mbar and quite safe for the human body and hardly noticeable. As the structure has no internal support, because it is inflated and sup- ported by air-pressure, its form and shape is particularly impressive and practical. A pigmented skin adds colours and an individual look, this can be extremly attractive when used at shows and exhibitions. A further development from the original air supported structure is a double-walled version, which reduces heating costs by up to 40% approx. Construction ans use is carried out according to DIN 4134 and official specifications.

Structure Shapes The first air supported structures originally consisted of a half-cylinder with quarter-spheres at both ends, this produced an oval shaped plan. With a view to better utilization of floor surface space, structures with a rectangular floor plan have been developed and are proven to be particulary successful. Various shapes can be produced e.g. half- spheres, etc. Airolymp air supported structures are available in floor areas start from 50m2 and more up , with a maximum width of approx. 100m In order to facilitate transport and installation, the skin of the structure is made up of sections, which are joined on site by means of special connecting rods. This allows for the extension or shortening of the air supported structure at any time for a relatively low cost ( modular system ).

Technical Data (Material and manufacture) The structure skin consists of man made fibre fabric, coated with PVC on both sides. It is weatherproof, UV–stabilized, rot-proof, air-tight and has a low inflammability according to DIN 4102, heat resistant up temp. +80 C and can also withstand low temperatures to -30 C. the tearing strength is 300 to 650 kp/5 cm strip width, depending on the width of the structure. The material weight is between 700 to 1050 g/m2. The white translucent colouring of the coated fabric ensures uniform ighting within the structure. It also acts as a reflector of strong harmful radition rays. The outside of the skin is coated with a dust-repellent layer. As an alternative to white, the translucent standard colour, various other

special colours are also available. For tropical climatic conditions special fabric qualities are available. The assembling of the individual material strips into complete tailor- made air supported structure, is mainly carried out by high frequency welding. This is proved to be a most successful method. An alternative to welding is the stitched and seamed joint, this also is very stable in the construction of an air supported structure. Production according to official specifications. Material and production are liable to permanent supervision through official test authorities. That is: guarantee for constant, high quality and many years of know how through continual production.

Air Lock Arrengements The structure is supported by air pressure, therefore exists and entrys to the structure must be in the form of airlocks to maintain this internal air pressure. These air locks are available in various designs and dimensions according to specific customer requirements. A.commerical vehicle and fork lift truck air locks with or without automaticly operated doors. This air lock can also have an additional door fitted for ease of pedestrain movement. B.Pedestrian and material air locks. When it is not necessary for large vehicles to enter the air supported structure, smaller air locks are sufficient.

C.Rotary door The rotary doors is useful when there are a lot of people entering and leaving the structure ( for instance when structure is used for exhibitions. ) D.Emergency exit Depending on size and use of air supported structures one or more emergency exits are incorporated. The main or supporting fan is available as a cold- or warm-air-unit, oil normally is used for tis heating purpose. On request from us we can also supply heating systems oprated by gas, hot water or steam.
